Cancer is a scary word, and an even scarier diagnosis. Louisiana has the
11th highest incidence and 8th highest mortality rate of lung cancer in
the U.S. Catching a tumor early increases your chance of successful treatment.
But are you at risk?
To learn more about lung cancer risk factors, testing techniques, and
a brief treatment overview for lung cancer, please join
Dr. Clifford Courville, MD, a board certified pulmonologist for his lecture this month.
Dr. Courville graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans,
where he received many awards for his outstanding performance, including
the John B. Bobear Pulmonary Award, the ACP Internal Medicine Award of
Excellence and the Richard M. Padison, MD Award for Physician’s
Physician. He then completed his internal medicine internship and residency
at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he also obtained a fellowship
in pulmonology and once again received several awards including Best Teaching
Intern and Best Teaching Resident.
